Originally a small, family run firm supplying the local heating gas market in the West End of Newcastle upon Tyne, the company has grown to become an established cylinder supplier throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. Undoubtedly, this is thanks in small part to the launch of subsidiary brands, Hobbyweld® and Hobbybrew®.
During the company’s life as Dixons Gas, significant investment was made towards ensuring the filling plant was able to meet demand and give security of supply to our customers. In 2016 a second filling plant was introduced to the site. Consequently, this investment doubled productivity levels meaning a seamless delivery to our growing network of customers and collections points.
The management system at Gas Direct Newcastle has approval from Lloyd’s Register to ISO 9001:2015 standards. The scope of this approval covers:
“Blending and supply of bottled industrial and beverage gases, including the supply of associated equipment and consumables for use in the manufacturing, retail, motor trade and hobbyist sectors. Calibration and maintenance of client’s welding equipment.”
